Semester 2 is when we move from the happy and relatively mechanical world of polynomials and linear function into the often arcane and diverse world of combinatorics, probability, exponential and logarithmic functions, interest problems, conic sections, and so much more. It’s a lot to keep track of, with not a lot of it re-enforced during the normal course of the class. It will be our job to manage the proliferation of new ideas, digesting it all down into weekly summaries of the essentials which will greatly ease the process of preparing for the often intimidating final exam in May.
