Gear Up! AP Government introduces  to the concepts, themes and exam elements students face on the Advanced Placement Government Exam.We will cover the basics of the first unit of the course, as well as the exam requirements, including rubrics for the four free response questions. Students list this course/ activity on their college application and develop a specific interest to pursue if they like for more discussion, also, on their applications. Tyler has taught AP US History and AP Government for over 25 years and regularly participates in College Board’s AP Test Grading

Day One

Introduction to the course, the exam and to Unit 1: Foundations of American Democracy, Foundational Documents #1&2, MCQ Practice: Quantitative Analysis

Day Two

MCQ Practice: Text Based Analysis, Foundational Documents 3&4, FRQ writing: Concept Application and Argumentative Essay.

Day Three

MCQ Practice: Visual Source Analysis, Unit 1 Content Review, Foundational Documents 5&6, Practice FRQ: Quantitative analysis,

Day Four

MCQ Practice, Unit 1 Content Review, Practice FRQ outlines, Practice FRQ writing: SCOTUS Comparison

Day Five

Writing and specialized readings to support future high school class
